Indiana Democrats released a plan intended to create a state-funded preschool program. Unlike the current program, this proposal would ensure all Indiana students would have access to Pre-K.
The plan proposed by John Gregg and Glenda Ritz would put $150 million towards universal Pre-K. The money would be redirected from existing state expenditures.
The current program has come under heavy criticism due to it's exclusivity. Particularly due to Governor Pence’s refusal to accept federal money to expand his program. (A decision on which he has flip-flopped recently)
